7th Girivihar Rock Climbing Competition

Girivihar is announcing its 7th Open International Bouldering Competition , starting from 23rd to 26th January 2010,at C.B.D, Belapur, Navi Mumbai

About the Competition:

Girivihar as a non-charitable Trust, has been active in rock climbing, mountaineering and trekking for the last over 50 years with major expeditions in the Himalaya and rock climbs in the Sahyadri to its credit. We conduct annual training camps for children, adults and handicapped and climbing competition at CBD Belapur.

We are collaborating with the Navi Mumbai Festival to give the masses a glimpse of climbing and the adventure involved. This is an open sport climbing competition on natural rock and artificial climbing wall. With esteemed climbers coming from, within India and across the globe, this competition is surely a great sport event to catch up with. So if you are looking forward to meet world renowned climbers like Michael Fuselier (one of the world's few climbers to climb the 9a grade) and Julien Nadiras (one of only 3 boulderers ever to have climbed a boulder graded V16), and Florence Pinet (world ranking 16, in difficulty climbing), then 7th Girivhar Rock Climbing Competition at CBD Belapur is the place to be.

And for those who have never tried their hands at rock climbing ever before, here is your chance, as Girivihar's trained climbers help you with an “Introduction to Rock Climbing for Citizens”, for free.
